GGL Format & Rules
Scheduling
- We will play every Wednesday starting on March 25th, 2026 at a course in the Greater Baltimore County Region.
In-Round Rules
- Each Gentleman will play their own ball through the entire round. Gimme putts will be allowed, based on the foursome's discretion.
- NO MAX score on a hole — the gentleman is to finish the hole with the ball in the cup or with a gimme awarded.
- Each Gentleman will have the ability to use 2 total mulligans — 1 mulligan per 9 holes.
- Mulligans can be used for any shot besides a putt.
- If you choose to take your mulligan, you cannot go back to your original shot even if it is better.
Scoring
- At the end of the round each Gentleman Foursome will turn in 1 official scorecard per group. Final scores will be calculated based on each player's official USGA handicap. Each Gentleman MUST have a USGA handicap, and update it in a timely manner.
- In order to be deemed an official round:
- 9+ holes need to be played
- 2+ GGL members need to play
- In order to be deemed an official round:
- Points will be awarded based on the number of GGL Members you beat that day. For example, if 6 GGL members are able to play that day, scoring will be awarded as follows:
- 1st Place (Lowest Score): 5 Points
- 2nd: 4 Points
- 3rd: 3 Points
- 4th: 2 Points
- 5th: 1 Point
- 6th: 0 Points
- Each week, our GGL Leaderboard will be sent out representing each member's cumulative score week over week.
- If a Gentleman scores a hole-in-one during a GGL Match, all GGL members must immediately blackout. In regular season matches, the Gentleman automatically wins the outing and earns triple points. In the championship round, a hole-in-one secures the GGL Cup and legendary status.
- More than one GGL outing can take place each week, BUT a GGL member can only score ONCE per week.
- Example: If you miss the official weekly outing, you can work with other GGL members to book a tee time, but only the person who missed the official outing and the person who came in last will be provided the opportunity to score. Official GGL rules apply:
- 9+ holes need to be played
